In the fight featuring two spot starters, the Buffalo Bisons dominated the Rochester Redwings, winning 10-2 at Frontier Field Saturday afternoon.

After a 1-2-3 first, Buffalo got to Rochester starter, Loek van Mil, in the second, scoring five times in the frame. The big righty was called on to replace Tyler Duffey, who had been called up to the Twins earlier in the day.

With one out, Casey Kotchman reached on a check-swing, infield single. Junior Lake and David Adams both walked before Tony Sanchez sliced a double that landed just in front of a diving Reynaldo Rodriguez in shallow right, bringing in both Kotchman and Lake.

The 7'1" native of the Netherlands got into further trouble with a walk to Jio Mier, setting up a two-run single off of the bat of Alexi Casilla. Andy Burns capped the five-run frame with a sac fly to center, just deep enough to score Mier.

Red Wings' reliever, Taylor Rogers, followed suit taking over for van Mil. He pitched a three-up, three-down third before the Bisons, for the second time in the contest, sent nine to the plate the following inning.

Sanchez's second double of the afternoon was followed by another walk from Mier. Andy Burns cashed both men in with an opposite-field liner to right for a ground-rule double. Dominic Brown then singled to bring home Burns. Matt Dominguez doubled to deep left-center field to plate Brown and extend his hit streak to seven games.

Up 9-2, the Herd added another in the eighth. Brown batted in his third run of the game, scoring Alexi Casilla with a sac fly to left.

As impressive as the Bisons' bats were, their pitching performed just as well.

Filling in for the recently recalled Drew Hutchison, Dustin Antolin was superb. The righty from Hawaii struck out five of the first six batters that came his way and faced just one over the minimum before being pulled with one out in the fourth.

Colt Hynes, in his first Triple-A appearance of the year, surrendered two runs but picked up the win with 2.2 innings of his own. Pat McCoy pitched a scoreless seventh and eighth before David Aardsma sat down three straight in the ninth.

BISONS NOTES:

Every Buffalo batter reached base...The 10 runs were the most scored by the Herd since an 11-10 win in Pawtucket on July 26th of last year...A day after batting 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position, the Bisons went 6-for-11...Tony Sanchez's three hits were more than he had all season. The catcher was 2-for-21 coming in....Colt Hynes was called up from AA New Hampshire earlier today.
