Indianapolis Indians News Release

LOUISVILLE, KY - Jameson Taillon showed his first round talent with six dominant innings against Louisville as the Indianapolis Indians shut out the Bats, 1-0, at Louisville Slugger Field on Saturday.

Taillon (2-0), Jorge Rondon, and Trey Haley combined to limit the Bats (6-8) to just one hit - a long single in the sixth by Louisville starter Josh Smith (2-1) with Taillon still on the mound.

After the Indians (8-6) dropped the series opener on Thursday with the teams even at 11 hits apiece, they went on to out-hit the Bats 26-3 over the final two games.

Taillon has now struck out 16 opposing hitters in his first 16.1 innings with the Tribe this season without walking a single batter.

The Indians got on the board in the fourth inning. Josh Bell singled to right to extend his hitting streak to a team-best seven games. Danny Ortiz then doubled home Bell for his second straight day with an extra-base hit RBI.
