Pigs Look to Bounce Back against PawSox

Coming off a tough loss on Friday night, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs will look to bounce back against the Pawtucket Red Sox on Saturday afternoon. First pitch from McCoy Stadium is slated for 1:05 p.m.

RHP Mark Appel (2-0, 0.77) gets the ball for the IronPigs on Saturday. The Houston native earned the win on Monday vs. Syracuse when he allowed one run on six hits while walking a pair and fanning six over six innings of work. Over two starts this season, Appel has fanned 11 batters in 11.2 IP.

RHP Keith Couch will be making his first start of the year for Pawtucket. The right-hander was 4-10 with a 6.14 ERA in 26 G (21 GS) for the PawSox in 2015. In two starts against the Pigs, Couch was 2-0 with a 3.75 ERA and allowed five earned runs over 12.0 IP.

With a 3-4 performance on Friday, Lehigh Valley OF Nick Williams recorded his first career three-hit game at the Triple-A level. Williams has now hit safely in seven of his last nine games and is hitting .324-0-5 with a double, triple, two stolen bases and five runs scored in that span.
