Today's Game

Today, the Bisons take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the finale of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Park (1:35 p.m.). Buffalo needs a win today to earn the series split with their IL North division rivals. The Bisons return home to Monday for a four-game series with the Bats.

Last Game (BUF 3-1, LHV 10-4)

The clubs split their doubleheader yesterday. Buffalo won the first game, 3-1, behind 10 strikeouts from RHP Drew Hutchison and a home run from INF Alexi Casilla. The IronPigs scored in each of the first five innings of game two to run away with a 10-4 win. Bisons pitching struck out 26 Lehigh Valley batters in the two games combined.

vs. Lehigh Valley (2-3)

Four of the five games in this season series have been decided by two runs or less. The lone exception was last night's 10-4 IronPigs win. All five games have also been played in Lehigh Valley. The IronPigs don't come to Buffalo until July 8-10.

Wade LeBlanc

LHP Wade LeBlanc is the International League-leader in ERA (1.51) and innings pitched (83.2) and ranks 2nd in wins (7) and 5th in strikeouts (81). The southpaw has made eight consecutive quality starts and has yet to yield more than three runs in any appearance. LeBlanc fanned a season-high 11 batters in a win over Durham last Wednesday. LeBlanc is 4-0 with a 0.73 ERA in four road starts this season.

Lake Effect

OF Junior Lake brings a seven-game hit streak into today's game, over which he has hit .368 (7-19) with a home run and five RBI. Lake has hit .279 in 14 June games, but has also drawn eight walks in the month for a .385 on-base pct. Lake is 28 for his last 93 at the plate (.301).

Ryan Tepera

RHP Ryan Tepera has converted his last nine save changes, five of which have been more than three outs. In his last 11 outings since May 15, the righty has posted a 1.10 ERA with 17 strikeouts to only six hits allowed in 16.1 IP. Opponents are hitting just .202 off Tepera this year.

Ben Rowen

RHP Ben Rowen's 1.14 walks/9.0 IP is the 4th-best mark among IL relievers. The righty has not allowed a run in his last 14 appearances, a 20.1-inning stretch that began on May 8. During the streak, he has allowed just nine base hits while striking out 16.

Bisons Bits

INF Andy Burns was optioned to the Bisons between games of yesterday's doubleheader. He leads the Herd with 16 doubles on the season...INF Alexi Casilla is 20 for his last 58 at the plate for a .345 average since May 17.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (38-32) lost in Baltimore on Saturday, 4-2. Former Bisons' RHP R.A. Dickey allowed just two earned runs over six innings but took the loss. RF Ezequiel Carrera hit his third home run of the seasons and 2B Devin Travis was 2-4 with an RBI. Toronto takes on the Orioles again today at 1:35 p.m. with RHP Marcus Stroman on the mound.
