(Louisville, KY) - The Pawtucket Red Sox overcame a two-run, seventh-inning deficit, upending the Louisville Bats, 5-4, to earn their first three-game sweep of the season on Sunday evening at Louisville Slugger Field.

Trailing 4-2 with one out in the seventh, Chris Dominguez launched an opposite field home run (2) against his former club that pulled the PawSox (36-33) within a run.

Pawtucket then rallied for the lead in the eighth inning against Louisville closer Jumbo Diaz (0-1), who had not allowed a run in any of his 19 Triple-A appearance on the season entering the night.

Jantzen Witte and Chris Marrero delivered back-to-back, one-out singles into center field. Both runners advanced a base after the next batter, Bryce Brentz, grounded out on a ball that deflected off of Diaz to second base.

The next hitter, Justin Maxwell, jumped on the first pitch of the at-bat and lined a go-ahead single into left field that scored both Witte and Marrero.

Roman Mendez (3-1) pitched a perfect eighth inning and Pat Light delivered a 1-2-3 ninth to seal the victory.

Mendez tossed 2.2 scoreless innings, stranding a pair of inherited runners in the sixth and improving his June ERA to 1.04. Light has not allowed a run in the ninth inning this season, converting on all five of his save opportunities.

The PawSox earned their first sweep of three or more games since August 24-26, 2015 against Scranton.

Pawtucket also improved to 11-6 in June and closed out its season series against the Bats (35-34) with a 5-1 record, outscoring them 25-10.

In addition to the late comeback, the PawSox rallied back from an early 1-0 hole.

With one out in the third inning, Jose Vinicio tripled and scored on Mike Miller's single to knot the game, 1-1.

In the following frame, Brentz blasted his third home run (3) in his last eight games over the center field fence, putting his team ahead, 2-1.

William Cuevas made the start for Pawtucket and he allowed four runs (two earned) on six hits in 5.1 innings of work.

Scott Schebler launched his seventh home run of the season in the first inning, but following the blast, Cuevas held Louisville off the scoreboard until the fifth.

In the fifth inning, Seth Mejias-Breen reached on a throwing error by Vinicio that just pulled the first baseman Marrero off first base. Mejias-Breen stole second and scored on Juan Perez's game-tying double.

The Bats then retook the lead, 3-2, when Schebler singled to bring home Perez.

Louisville's advantage doubled to 4-2 when Jermaine Curtis launched Cuevas' first pitch of the sixth inning for a home run (5).

Cuevas has surrendered five long balls in his last two starts, equaling the total number of blasts he gave up in his first 10 starts of the season.

The PawSox begin an eight-game homestand tomorrow against the Syracuse Chiefs at 7:05 p.m. Pawtucket righthander Sean O'Sullivan (4-2, 3.38) is scheduled to take the mound against Syracuse righty Paolo Espino (3-6, 3.50). Radio coverage on WHJJ (920 AM) and throughout the Pawtucket Red Sox radio network begins at 6:35 p.m.
