Today's Game
This evening, the Bisons return home for a quick three-game homestand against IL North foe Pawtucket (6:05 p.m.). The team has played just two home games so far in 2018 due to several postponements because of inclement weather on the opening homestand of the season. Tonight begins the second series of the season between Buffalo and the PawSox, with the Herd taking the opening series in Pawtucket with two wins.

Herd starter Ryan Borucki struck out seven batters over six innings in the conclusion of a three-game series against Durham to notch his first win of the season. C Reese McGuire went 2-3 at the plate with a home run and 2RBI as well.
Today's Starter: RHP Sam Gaviglio
RHP Sam Gaviglio makes his third start of the season for the Bisons and is in search of his first win in 2018. Gaviglio has yet to receive a decision this season, last time working 5.1IP at Norfolk on April 21. The 27-year old scattered four hits and a walk last time out, while recording six strikeouts against the Tides. He is also making his second home start, after starting Opening Day on April 12 vs. Indianapolis.
Pawtucket (2-1)
The Bisons are 2-1 against the PawSox this season after winning the opening series of the season at McCoy Stadium. Buffalo surrendered a two-run lead in the first game of the season, but scored a lone run in extra innings for a 4-3 win on April 9. The Herd also scored a 14-8 win thanks to a Dwight Smith Jr. grand slam on April 11.
Dalton Pompey
OF Dalton Pompey has collected at least one base hit in each of his five games since being optioned to the Herd on Friday. Along with a .381 average (8-21), is a perfect 4-for-4 stealing bases and has recorded three multi-hit performances in five games. Pompey also owns a 1.011 OBP. Injuries (concussion, leg) limited Pompey to just 13 games in all of 2017.
Tim Lopes
INF Tim Lopes has not showed any signs of slowing down, extending his hitting streak to all nine games that he has appeared in with a 2-4 day in Durham on Wednesday. The infielder holds the IL's top batting average heading into play on Friday, in addition to a team-best 14 hits.
Anthony Alford
OF Anthony Alford hit safely in two of four plate appearances on Wednesday, in addition to his first RBI since being optioned to Triple-A last Friday. Alford began the season on the disabled list with a right hamstring strain and rehabbed with Dunedin before joining the Herd.
Bisons Bits
The Bisons have 15 stolen bases on the year, tied for 4th most in the International League. As a team, they have only been caught stealing four times...LHP Ryan Borucki recorded the team's first quality start of the season in the win over Durham on Wednesday...RHP Jake Petricka picked up the first save of the season for the bullpen. The team was previously 0-3 in save opportunities.
Blue Jays Update
Toronto (14-10) lost to the Red Sox, 5-4, on Thursday in their conclusion of a three-game set from Rogers Centre. Devon Travis and Justin Smoak each hit solo home runs but Boston's slugger J.D. Martinez had a three-run shot off Blue Jays starter, Marco Estrada. Toronto begins a three-game series with Texas tonight (7:07 p.m.) with Marcus Stroman on the hill.
