Pigs Open Six-Game Homestand Tonight

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs return home tonight to take on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders at 7:05 p.m. Lehigh Valley is coming off a six-game road trip in which they went 2-4 and are now 8-10 on the season.

Cole Irvin is making his second start of the season against the RailRiders and is going for his first career Triple-A victory. Nestor Cortes is on the hill for the RailRiders making his second career regular season start against the IronPigs. Tonight's starting pitching matchup is presented by Allentown Family Foot Care, which provides the latest in medical and surgical treatments of the entire foot and ankle. Learn more at affc.com.

Tonight's contest is Irvin's second start against the Railriders, the first being his 10-strikeout Triple-A debut earlier this month. He last pitched against Durham on April 20, going six innings and allowing three hits and four runs while striking out six.

Cortes, a 2017 Eastern League All-Star with Trenton (AA) takes the ball in Game 1 for the RailRiders. Cortes was selected by the Orioles in the 2017 Major League Rule 5 Draft and made Baltimore's Opening Day roster. After appearing in four games, Coretes was designated for assignment on April 10 and returned to the Yankees organization. This is the third regular season appearance and second start for Cortes, who boasts a 1.86 ERA but has yet to earn a decision.

LAST GAME: The Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Norfolk Tides split a doubleheader Wednesday at Harbor Park. The Pigs rallied to take the early contest 9-8 before falling in the second contest 5-0. Mitch Walding went 4-for-4 with a home run and the game-tying two-run double before being driven home by Jesmuel Valentin to score the game-winning run.

TONIGHT AT COCA-COLA PARK: Friday Night Fireworks are back! Be sure to stay after the game for launch-a-ball and the Beyonce-themed fireworks presented by Cedar Crest College. Gates for the opening day of the homestand will open at 5:45 p.m.

Yankees third-baseman Brandon Drury will make a Good Shepherd Rehab appearance tonight vs. the IronPigs.

This homestand features tonight's fireworks show, two bobblehead giveaways (Scott Kingery on Saturday, Rhys Hoskins on Tuesday) and an Autism Awareness jersey auction on Sunday.
