
Syracuse Chiefs to Hold Bark in the Park at NBT Bank Stadium, April 29th

SYRACUSE, NY - The Syracuse Chiefs will hold their annual Bark in the Park promotion, this Sunday, April 29th as the Chiefs take on the Rochester Red Wings at 1:05 p.m. Bark in the Park is presented by Melvin & Melvin Law Firm and will feature several local animal rescue and shelter organizations:
- Bubba's Beds - a non-profit group that provides beds to dogs in shelters
- Cuse Pit Crew - a dog rescue group
- Second Chance Canine Adoption Shelter - a dog rescue group
- Helping Hounds Dog Rescue - a dog rescue group
- Hardeko Helping Paws Pantry - a pet food pantry
- Recycle-A-Bull Bully Breed Rescue, Inc. - a dog rescue group
- Wanderers Rest Humane Association, Inc. - the only animal shelter/rescue in Madison County
- Clear Path for Veterans - K9 Mingle Dog Training
- Spay and Neuter Syracuse - a non-profit, low-cost spay & neuter clinic
The first 500 dogs in attendance will also receive a dog waste bag dispenser giveaway. Dogs and their owners that arrive early will be invited to join the "Chiefsminster" pet parade around the field before the game.
"Bark in the Park is always one of my favorite days of the season," said Jason Smorol, general manager. "Not only do we get to help support some wonderful organizations that help animals in our community, but we get to spend time with our dogs at a baseball game!"
Tickets for dogs are $5.00 for Bark in the Park and all proceeds of the dog tickets will be donated to participating local animal rescue organizations. All fans with dogs will also be asked to sign a waiver before entering the stadium on Sunday. Dog-potty areas and play areas will also be provided.
Sunday is also a Kids Eat Free Sunday where kids 12 years and younger can eat for free! Kids will receive a voucher for a kids popcorn and a 12 oz. fountain Coca-Cola drink in the 1st inning, a kids Hofmann hot dog and a 12 oz. fountain Coca-Cola drink in the third inning and a kids Perry's ice cream cup in the 6th inning. After the game, all fans are welcome to run the bases, courtesy of East Syracuse Chevrolet.
