PITCHING MATCH-UP: LHP Cole Irvin (0-1, 5.40) vs. LHP Nestor Cortes (0-0, 0.00)

LAST TIME OUT: The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders came from behind to defeat the Columbus Clippers 8-5 on Wednesday night at PNC Field. The RailRiders trailed 4-0 after two innings, but Shane Robinson, Mike Ford and Major League rehabber Brandon Drury paced the comeback to help Scranton/Wilkes-Barre claim the series. The RailRiders stormed back in the bottom of the third against Stephen Fife, loading the bases with no outs. Drury lined a single to center to plate Billy Fleming with the first run of the frame, and Robinson followed with a three-run double to clear the bases. Robinson quickly stole third base and scored on a Ford groundout to give the RailRiders a 5-4 lead. In the top of the fourth, Columbus responded with a tally when Giovanny Urshela brought home Greg Allen with an RBI single to tie the game at 5-5. Camarena was finished after 4.1 innings, allowing five runs on 10 hits, walking two and striking out four. The RailRiders took the lead back in the bottom of the fifth after Drury and Robinson led off with back-to-back singles. Ford then clubbed an opposite-field double to plate both runners and take a 7-5 lead. Robinson finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a double, three RBIs and a stolen base. After the completion of the bottom of the seventh, rain was falling hard and the tarp was brought onto the field. Following a 56-minute delay, the game resumed play with Cody Carroll pitching, who struck out the side in the top of the ninth to nail down his first save of the season, striking out five in his 2.0-inning appearance.

FAMILIAR FACE: The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders head to Allentown Friday night for their second roadtrip of the season. The team went 3-4 on the first trip of the year at Charlotte and Gwinnett, but started out by taking 3-of-4 from Charlotte before being swept by the Stripers. The good news for the RailRiders is that in the first head-to-head meeting of the season with the IronPigs, the RailRiders took 2-of-3 despite only outscoring the 'Pigs 10-7.

TAKING OFF: In addition to the offensive muscle growing during the recent six-game homestand against Toledo and Columbus, the speed started to show itself at the end of the homestand as well. Over the final two games against Columbus the RailRiders were 5-for-5 SB (Shane Robinson, 3 // Tyler Wade, 2). In the first 17 games of the season the RailRiders had stolen just nine bases total before running wild against catchers Francisco Mejia and Eric Haase. The RailRiders have a pair of players who have 5 SB this season (Robinson, Abiatal Avelino) which puts them T-3rd in the IL behind Roman Quinn of Lehigh Valley with 7 SB.

THEY GROW UP SO FAST: Gleyber Torres (No. 1 NYY Prospect // No. 5 MiLB Prospect) continues his first full week in the majors playing for the New York Yankees. With five games under his belt- all at second base- Torres hasn't missed a beat. The 21-year old is 6-for-19 (.316 AVG), 2B, 3 R, RBI to begin his big league career.

WADE AT THE TOP: Tyler Wade was optioned to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Monday and will be playing in his first roadtrip of the season for the RailRiders. He was batting .086 for New York this season with three hits over 35 at bats when he was optioned back. Wade appeared in 85 games for the RailRiders last season, batting .310 with seven home runs and 31 runs batted in. MiLB.com tabbed Wade as an end-of-season Yankees Organizational All-Star for his efforts with the RailRiders. In his first series with SWB against Columbus, he was 2-for-11 (.182 AVG), 2B, 2 BB (.308 OBP), 2-2 SB.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Up in the big leagues the New York Yankees trailed the Minnesota Twins heading into the 9th inning, but C Gary Sanchez delivered a walk-off 3R HR off RP Francisco Rodney to lead the Yankees to their sixth straight win. The Double-A Trenton Thunder had the night off as they travel up to New Hampshire to take on the Fisher Cats Friday night. The Tampa Tarpons beat the Charlotte Stone Crabs yesterday, 7-1. The game featured the start of a rehab assignment for OF Clint Frazier (1-3, 2B, 2 R, 2 BB) who played well and helped lead the offensive support for RHP Jonathan Loaisiga (5.0 IP, R/ER, 6 H, 7 K) who picked up the win to improve to 3-0 with a 1.35 ERA. Just like in the majors, the Single-A Charleston RiverDogs got a walkoff win Thursday over the Columbia FireFlies as 2B Dswaldo Cabrera scored DH Jason Lopezwith a line drive single to right field.
