Today's Game

This evening, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Norfolk Tides in the second game of a three-game series. Following the tilt with the Tide, Buffalo will play host to the Durham Bulls July 16-22. The last time the Bisons played the two teams was April 20-25 while on the road. The Herd will then have a scheduled off-day on Monday before heading to Louisville and Indianapolis. Buffalo will play three doubleheaders on the road trip (7/24 (LOU), 7/27 (IND), and 7/29 (IND)) as part of the postponed games at Coca-Cola Field in April.

Last Game: BUF 8, NOR 1

RHP Brandon Cumpton earned his second win of the season in his first starting appearance in yesterday's victory against the Tides. The righty threw 5.0IP, 4H, 1R/ER, 0BB, 3K, and 1HR. The Herd had eight unanswered runs coming off of a team total of 12 hits. INF Gio Urshela went 3-5 with 2 runs scored and C Reese McGuire went 2-3 with a run scored and 4RBIs with his first grand slam of the season.

Norfolk (2-2)

The Bisons and Tides will play their second, and final, series of the season. The last played on April 20-22 at Harbor Park in Norfolk, VA. The Herd took the middle game of the series with a 8-6 victory. Every Buffalo pitcher who threw in the series in April against Norfolk is no longer on the Bisons' active roster.

Today's Starter: RHP Sean Reid-Foley

RHP Sean Reid-Foley is looking for his sixth win of the season that would tie him with LHP Ryan Borucki for the team lead in wins. The righty's last appearance came on 7/12 @LHV where he went 5.1 IP, 3H, 3R/ER, 4BB, and 9K, registering a no decision. Reid-Foley is 3-0 in his last four appearances on the mound.

Gio Urshela

INF Gio Urshela went 3-5 scoring twice and an RBI in yesterday's win. Urshela now has hits in seven of his eight games since joining the Bisons including four multi-hit games (12-34, .353AVG). The infielder is also on a 4 game hitting streak going 8-17 (.471).

Rowdy Tellez

INF Rowdy Tellez extended his hitting streak going 2-4 yesterday. The infielder had 2RBI's, 2 runs scored, and his 16th double of the season putting him behind Jansen by 1 for the team lead in doubles. Tellez also trails Jansen in total bases by 9 with 97.

Reese McGuire

C Reese McGuire went deep yesterday hitting his first grand-slam of the year. This marks the catcher's fifth home run this season with his last one on 6/30 @SYR. McGuire went 2-3 with 4RBI's, a run scored, and a walk to help secure the win.

Bisons' Bits

The Herd is 9-35 when their opponent scores first after yesterday's game...The Tides scored early taking the lead in the second inning. Buffalo scored 2 in the fourth to take the lead and the game...Six insurance runs were scored in the seventh where the Bison's outscore their opponents 47-32.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto and MLB are currently off due to the All-Star break. Tonight the American League and National League will meet in the Midsummer Classic from Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. Ex-Bison LHP J.A. Happ is representing the Blue Jays for the AL in the game. Toronto will begin a six-game homestand on Friday against the Baltimore Orioles.
