Today's Game

This evening, the Bisons and the Gwinnett Stripers will play for the first time this season for a three game series at Coca-Cola Field. The Herd will then play the Toledo Mud Hens for a three game series August 10-12 to close out their second-last home stand of the season. Buffalo then travels to Charlotte for a three game series 8/13- 8/15 before visiting Gwinnett 8/16- 8/19 for a four game series to conclude a seven game road trip.

The Herd used a four-run ninth inning comeback to win the series against the RailRiders. OF Anthony Alford hit a two run double to put the Herd within one. INF Richard Urena singled up the middle to score INF Gift Ngoepe to tie the game. INF Tim Lopes hit a sac fly to plate the winning run for the Bisons victory.

Gwinnett (0-0)

The Bisons and Stripers play only 7 times this season. The three game series on 8/7- 8/9 marks the first meeting of the year. In 2017, Buffalo went 2-4 against Gwinnett. The Herd is looking for the first series win within the last 5 years against the Stripers.

Today's Starter: RHP Sean Reid-Foley

RHP Sean Reid-Foley is looking to pick up his first win in the month August. The righty's last outing was on 8/1 vLHV where he suffered his first loss in his last eight starts (6.1IP, 4H, R/ER, 3BB, 6SO). Reid-Foley is 5-2 at home and averages 5.6 strikeouts per home game. The righty now has 138 strike-outs this season between New Hampshire (AA) and Buffalo breaking his previous career high of 130 strike outs in 2016 between Lansing and Dunedin.

Tim Lopes

INF Tim Lopes played a crucial role in the Bisons' comeback victory on Sunday. The infielder went 1-3 with his second homerun of the season in the eighth and the go-ahead sac fly in the ninth to score the winning run. Lopes is hitting .308 over his last 4 games going 4-13 at the plate.

Rowdy Tellez

1B Rowdy Tellez hit his 11th home run of the season to get the Herd on the board in the seventh. Tellez finished the night 2-3 with a run scored, RBI, and a walk. After reaching on a fielder's choice in the top of the ninth Tellez was pinch ran for by INF Gift Ngoepe who would score the game tying run.

Transactions

OF Dalton Pompey was activated from the suspended list prior to Sunday's game against the RailRiders. RHP Brandon Cumpton was added from Toronto and OF Roemon Field and RHP Nick Tepesch were moved to the disabled list on 8/5.

Bisons' Bits

Sunday's win marks only the third time this season the Herd has come back in the second half of the game to win. The ninth inning is the second-lowest runs scored total by the Bisons with 31 behind the eighth inning where the Bison's have scored 29 runs through the whole season...3B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has a .522 OBP through his first 6 games with the Bisons with 8 walks out of 22 plate appearances.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (51-60) dropped the last game of a four game series with the Seattle Mariners on Sunday. RHP Joe Biagini took the loss pitching .2 innings giving up 3H and 3R/ER. INF Aledmys Diaz went 2-4 with a double and home run in the loss. After an off day on Monday, the Blue Jays host the Red Sox for a three game series at Rogers Centre. RHP Marcus Stroman will face off against LHP Drew Pomeranz at 7:07 p.m.
