In a battle of first-place teams, the IronPigs (70-43) play the opener of three-game series against the West-leading Indianapolis Indians (62-51) at Victory Field... With a 6-5 win over Syracuse on Sunday, the Pigs took the rubber match of a three-game, home series and trimmed their Magic Number to 16. In addition, the Pigs tied a franchise record by going 27 games above .500 and set a new franchise record by going up 11.0 games on the IL North. Lehigh Valley has won 13 of its last 17 affairs and 22 of its last 29 contests and owns a 41-17 record since June 3... The Indians -- Pittsburgh's top affiliate -- lost 7-6 at Toledo on Sunday to split a four-game, series with the Hens. The Indians are 10-4 in their last 14 contest and own a 37-24 record after falling to a season-low water mark at 25-27 on June 1... Indy is the only IL team the Pigs have yet to face.

LHP Cole Irvin (10-3, 2.77) will start for LHV against RHP Tyler Eppler (11-5, 3.56).
