Today's Game

This evening, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders for the first of two games at PNC Field in Moosic, PA. The RailRiders won both meetings in Downtown Buffalo on the front end of the home-and-home series that spans each end of the 4th of July holiday. After a quick two days on the road, the Herd returns home to face Syracuse July 6-8 before the three-day All-Star break.

Last Game: BUF 3, SWB 6

The Bisons scored first, thanks to a stolen base by OF Anthony Alford and two errors on the play. However, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre took the lead the next half inning on a INF Rey Navarro two-run home run. C Reese McGuire had another multi-hit performance in the loss. 1B Rowdy Tellez added his team-leading 61st base hit in the loss as well. RHP Jon Harris made his second start for the Bisons and lasted six innings. He took the loss, giving four runs while striking out five.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (4-4)

The Bisons and RailRiders will meet came a total of 16 times this season, with five more meetings coming at PNC Field, including tonight. Buffalo will travel to Moosic once more this season August 3-5, while the RailRiders will return to Coca-Cola Field Aug. 21-23, which is the last homestand of the year for the Herd.

Today's Starter: LHP Matt Tracy

LHP Matt Tracy will make his Bisons' debut after being activated to the roster on Sunday. The left hander was drafted by the New York Yankees in 2011, and spent the first six years of his professional career in their organization, culminating in his MLB Debut on 4/11/15 vs. the Boston Red Sox. Tracy has spent this season with the GCL Blue Jays, making three starts for the team.

Reese McGuire

C Reese McGuire went 2-4 again on Tuesday. The Bisons' backstop went 4-8 in two games at home against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. McGuire collected two triples in the loss, becoming the 19th player in the Modern Era to have two triples in the same game. It was the first time since 5/22/14 when INF Jonathan Diaz accomplished the feat at Louisville.

Roemon Fields

OF Roemon Fields extended his hitting streak to a season-high nine games with a base hit on Tuesday. Fields has gone 11-35 (.314) over this stretch, increasing his batting average by 13 points. Fields is hitting 39 points higher since his average dipped to .221 on 5/31.

Conor Fisk

RHP Conor Fisk replaced Rowley in the 6th inning on Monday for his 14th appearance for the Herd. Fisk went 2.0IP, 1H, 0R/0ER, 1BB, and 1K, lowering his season ERA to 2.03. The righty has been lights out in home games this season, 2-0, 0.47ERA, 19.1IP, 12H, 2R/1ER, 8BB, 10K.

Bisons' Bits

The Herd finished June 12-17 after going 18-12 in the month of May...OF Roemon Fields sits alone in third place in the Modern Era with 60 career stolen bases. He trails Dave Roberts (97) and Greg Tubbs (67)...The Bisons have lost three times in less than a week after scoring first.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (40-45) turned a 6-1 deficit into an 8-6 win over the New York Mets on Tuesday. INF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit the go-ahead two-run HR in the bottom of the eighth for the Jays. RHP Marcus Stroman starts for Toronto tonight against RHP Corey Oswalt at Rogers Centre (7:07 p.m.) Toronto then closes out a nine-game, ten day homestand against the Yankees July 6-8.
