The International League today announced that Buffalo Bisons INF DAN JOHNSON will be one of six Triple-A All-Stars to compete in the 2014 Triple-A All-Star Home Run Derby on Monday, July 14 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park (6:30 p.m.).

Johnson will compete against two former Bisons sluggers in Toledo's Mike Hessman and Reno's Mike Jacobs. Other competitors include Jesus Aguilar (Columbus), Allan Dykstra (Las Vegas) and Francisco Pena (Omaha).

This is Johnsons' third time competing in the Triple-A All-Star Home Run Derby. He won the Derby in 2010 at Lehigh Valley as an All-Star with the Durham Bulls. Two years ago at Coca-Cola Field, he finished 2nd behind Buffalo's Valentino Pascucci.

Johnson leads all International League sluggers with 17 home runs. He hit a walk-off home run in the first game of last Wednesday's doubleheader against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and had two home runs on June 16 in Toledo. Johnson has also homered in back-to-back games for the Bisons twice this year, April 6-8 and May 11-12. Johnson has 294 home runs in his professional career.
