
Bisons Dan Johnson, Bobby Korecky, Liam Hendriks Elected to IL All-Star Team

The International League today announced that Buffalo Bisons 1B DAN JOHNSON, RHP LIAM HENDRIKS and RHP BOBBY KORECKY have all been elected to the 2014 International League All-Star Team. The trio of players will join the IL's best against the Pacific Coast League All-Stars at the 27th Annual Cree Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 16 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, NC.
The game will be broadcast live on the MLB Network with radio coverage on the flagship station for Bisons Baseball, ESPN 1520 AM. (7:00 p.m.).
JOHNSON has played in all 83 of the Bisons games this season, the most by any player in the International League. The slugger also tops all IL hitters with 16 home runs and 69 walks (19 more than any other player). Johnson ranks 2nd in the circuit with 50 RBI and 35 extra-base hits and is 4th with a .401 on-base percentage. Overall, Johnson has hit .253 (71-281) with 19 doubles and Bisons' team-high 50 runs scored. He's homered in back-to-back games twice this season and hit two homers on June 16 against Toledo.
HENDRIKS is 6-1 with a 2.13 ERA in 14 games and 12 starts with the Bisons this season. He leads all International League pitchers with a 0.80 WHIP and the fewest walks (0.59) and baserunners (8.61) per nine innings of work. His 2.13 ERA is the third best mark in the IL. Hendriks won his first six decisions of the season and has allowed two or fewer earned runs in nine of his 12 starts. Hendriks began the season with 28.1 innings of work without issuing a walk. He has allowed just five free passes to 62 strikeouts in 80.1 IP innings of work.
KORECKY is 4-1 with a 0.60 ERA in a team-high 33 relief appearances for the Bisons. The veteran has allowed just 26 hits while striking out 42 in 44.2 innings of work. He also leads the Bisons with 10 saves (in 11 chances). He ranks 3rd in the International League in games (33) and games finished (33) and is 4th among all IL relievers in batting average against (.166). Korecky began the season with 17 scoreless appearances (26.0) until allowing his first run on May 17. He also saved two games on the same day in a June 19 doubleheader in Durham.
