TONIGHT'S GAME: Riding a three-game winning streak the Red Wings open a brief two-game series against the Pawtucket Red Sox tonight (6:15 p.m.) at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, RI. After a 10-game stretch in which the Wings went just 3-7, Rochester has rebounded to win 5 of their last 7 games to climb back within 4.0 games of Syracuse in the IL North . The Red Wings still maintain their one-game lead over Columbus in the Wild Card Standings. Meanwhile, Pawtucket's 6-game winning streak was snapped on Tuesday; however, the Paw Sox have still won 8 of 12 since leaving Rochester two weeks ago and are just 3.0 GB of Rochester in T-3rd place.
- The Wings will face RHP Matt Barnes for the 3rd time in his career on Wednesday...The Wings beat him in Game 4 of last year's playoff series (4.0 IP, 5 R, 4 ER) before Barnes earned the win on 4/25 of this year (5.0 IP, 2 R, ER).
WITH A WIN TODAY, THE WINGS WILL...:
- Have their first 4-game winning streak since a season-high 7-game streak May 13-19.
- Return to a tied for season-high 10 games over the .500 mark for the first time since June 16.
ACHTER AN ALL-STAR: Red Wings reliever A.J. Achter was elected be the lone Wings representative in the 2014 Triple-A All-Star Game set for July 16 in Durham, NC. In his first full season at Triple-A, Achter has emerged as one of the most reliable arms out of the bullpen in the International League. He leads all IL relievers with a .124 batting average against - allowing just 16 hits in 129 at-bats. Achter has also allowed the fewest base runners per 9 innings (6.64) among all circuit relievers . The 25-year-old right-hander boasts a 1.60 ERA in 22 games with Rochester and has converted all four of his save opportunities, while stranding 18 of 21 inherited runners.
- Achter has allowed just 2 R over his last 20.1 IP (0.89 ERA) -- spanning 11 G over which he's allowed 6 H, 9 BB w/ 21 SO.
- Over his first 38 Triple-A games, opposing hitters are batting just .153 (33-215) off Achter.
BACK TO THE BIGS: 1B Chris Colabello was recalled by Minnesota on Wednesday after the Twins put Joe Mauer on the disabled list with a strained right oblique. Colabello was on a tear over his last 10 games with the Wings, hitting .341 (14-41) with 4 doubles, 4 home runs and 12 RBI . After a 15-game stretch between Minnesota and Rochester in which Colabello went just 2-for-46 (.043), the 2013 IL MVP has rebounded to bat .318 with 14 extra-base hits and 25 RBI over his last 29 games with the Red Wings.
- Colabello was promoted the day after collecting his 5th career mulit-HR game and his 3rd as a Red Wing.
- Colabello becomes the 14th Red Wings player to be promoted to Minnesota this season. Last year, a total of 16 players were promoted to the Big Leagues from Rochester.

- The Wings set season highs in runs (15), hits (19), TB (32) and runs allowed (11). The last time the Wings scored 15 runs in a game was 6/7/10 (1) vs. TOL and the last time Rochester had 19 hits in a contest was 6/11/11 at TOL.
- Wilkin Ramirez became the first Wing to collect 5 hits in a game since Jermaine Mitchell on 8/12/13 @ NOR...It was Ramirez's second career 5-hit game and first since 8/1/11 with Gwinnett.
- 1B Chris Colabello joined Chris Parmelee (5/4) and Ramirez (6/6) as the only Wings w/ multi-HR games this year.
- 3B Nate Hanson snapped an 0-for-30 spell at Triple-A to go 3-for-4 with a 2B, 3 R and 2 RBI.
- Edgar Ibarra's season-high 15.1-inning scoreless streak was snapped as he allowed 5 runs on 3 hits & 2 BB in 0.1 IP.
- The Wings beat NOR in a series for the 4th time in their last 5 meetings & for the 3rd straight season at Frontier Field.
ON THE OFFENSIVE: The Wings have scored 8 or more runs in their last 3 games for the first time since May 28-30, 2013 vs, Lehigh Valley . Prior to this run, the Wings had scored 8 or more runs just three times over their previous 22 games. Over their current tear, the Wings have scored 31 runs on 41 hits -- including 16 XBH (7 HR).
HOT WINGS: INF Doug Bernier is batting .325 (37-for-114) with 2 HR, 4 doubles, 18 runs and 23 RBI over his last 36 games since May 17. He also leads the club with a .393 average with RISP...OF Eric Farris has a hit in his last 7 games, batting .333 (11-33) with 3 doubles, 5 runs and 3 RBI...C/OF Chris Herrmann has a season-high 6-game hitting streak, batting .364 (8-for-22) with 4 doubles, one triple, one HR, 6 runs and 5 RBI...OF Wilkin Ramirez has a hit in 19 of his last 22 games, hitting .356 (31-87) with 10 doubles, 2 homers and 13 RBI.
