Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The IronPigs (41-44) return home to play Game 1 of a two-game series against the first-place Syracuse Chiefs (51-34), owners of the best record in all of Triple-A... With a 3-2 win in Scranton/WB last night, the Pigs swept the two-game set at PNC Field after snapping a three-game losing streak. Still, Lehigh Valley has dropped seven of its last 10 contests and, since May 30, has gone just 12-19, falling from second place and 0.5 GB in the North to sixth place and a season-high 10.0 GB... Syracuse -- Washington's top affiliate -- lost to Buffalo, 5-4, in 10 innings last night to split a four-game, home series. The Chiefs have gone just 3-4 after the IronPigs left Syracuse. However, they've gone 30-12 (.714) since falling to 21-22 on May 18 -- a span that included winning streaks of eight (June 17-24) and six (May 19-25) and reaching a high-water mark of 18 games above .500 the first time since ending the 1998 season at 80-62 on Sept. 7 (a span of 5,789 days).

RHP Jason Marquis (0-0, 1.50) will start for LHV against RHP Taylor Hill (9-2, 1.92).

Tonight features postgame fireworks, presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network Sports Medicine... First-Pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
