COLUMBUS, OH. - The Louisville Bats were unable to avoid the sweep Tuesday night as the Columbus Clippers defeated them 6-3 at Huntington Park in a rain-shortened game.

The Bats took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning after an RBI single from Steve Selsky scored Rey Navarro. However, in the bottom of the third the Clippers began blasting Louisville's starter Brett Marshall. Three hits and a home run later and the Clippers were up 6-1.

Louisville battled back in the sixth inning, recording four hits and plating two to cut Columbus' lead in half to make the score 6-3. But, a rain delay in the bottom of the seventh lead to the game being called and left the Bats unable to close up the lead.

Marshall (0-4, 12.94) received the loss for the Bats. He pitched four innings allowing six runs on seven hits, with four walks, four strikeouts and one home run.

Columbus' starter, right-hander Zach McAllister (4-0, 2.08), had an impressive outing for the Clippers allowing three runs on eight hits with nine strikeouts and no walks.

Rey Navarro has now hit safely in all nine games in which he has had an at-bat after his single in the second inning.

Louisville will return home tomorrow night for game one of two against Indianapolis at Louisville Slugger Field at 7:05 p.m. The Bats will send right-hander Chien-Ming Wang (8-5, 3.48) to the mound against the Indians' righty Casey Sadler (8-1, 2.10).
