MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Jake Hager finished a double away from the cycle while Dylan Floro (7-5) continued his success in the Biscuits' (36-35/1-0) 5-1 win over the Mobile BayBears (42-27/0-1) to start the second half Thursday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Hager's offense was a game-changer early. His single in the first inning led to the Biscuits' first run of the game. With two outs and the game tied at one in the second inning, Hager drove a ball over Dustin Martin's head in right field for a two-run triple. Then in Hager's third at-bat of the game, he launched his second home run of the season - a solo homer - to give the Biscuits a 4-1 lead. Hager would reach on an error in his final at bat, keeping him one double away from the cycle.

Floro allowed a one-out single in the second inning from Gerson Montilla that tied the game at one, but the one run was all the BayBears could get. Floro induced three groundball double plays while scattering eight hits. The right-hander went 6.2 innings for his seventh win of the year. It was the first time in eight starts that Floro did not go seven full innings.

The Biscuits added their final run of the game on a throwing error from Mark Thomas in the sixth inning. With runners on the corners, Jeremy Moore took off for second. Thomas' throw ended up in centerfield which allowed Jeff Malm to score.

Game two of the series is Friday night at 7:05. LH Grayson Garvin will throw against RH Bradin Hagens.
