PEARL, MISS. - The Seattle Mariners have announced the following roster moves that affect the Generals roster. OF Julio Morban and RHP David Colvin have each been reinstated from the disabled list. LHP Tyler Pike has been activated from Hi-A High Desert and UTIL Nate Melendres has been placed on the disabled list. The moves are made prior to tonight's series opener at Mississippi at 7:00 p.m. CT.

Morban, 22 has been activated from extended spring training. He began the 2014 season on the DL and was activated by AAA Tacoma on April 18. In 6 games for the Rainiers Morban batted .250 (5x20) with a double and RBI. Morban was transferred to extended spring training on April 30 and then added to Jackson's DL on June 10. In 2013, Morban batted .295 (87x295) with 20 doubles, 5 triples, 7 home runs and 44 RBI in 86 games with the Generals. He was named a Southern League midseason All-Star and Southern League Hitter of the Week (6/17-6/24). Morban was placed on the DL Aug. 21 with a right tibula fracture suffered while sliding into second base at Mobile. He ranked 3rd in the Southern League in batting at time of his injury. Morban was rated preseason by SeattleClubhouse.com as the No. 8 overall prospect for the Mariners.

Colvin, 24, was placed on the DL on April 27. In 7 relief appearances, Colvin was 0-0, with a 1.76 ERA (3ER/15.1IP) and 11 strikeouts. Colvin was holding right-handed batters to just a .171 average. Colvin was the Mariners' 27th round selection in the 2011 draft out of Pomona Pitzer College.

Pike, 20, has made 14 starts for Hi-A High Desert this season going 2-4, with a 5.72 ERA (39ER/61.1) and 57 strikeouts. Pike was the California League Pitcher of the Week for his performance May 26-June 1 and currently ranks 4th in the Mariners organization in strikeouts. In 2013, Pike was a midseason and postseason Midwest League All-Star while with Low-A Clinton. He was Seattle's supplemental 3rd round draft pick (126th overall) in the 2012 draft out of Winter Haven HS (FL). Pike was rated in the preseason by SeattleClubhouse.com as the No. 5 overall prospect for the Mariners.

Melendres, 24, was previously on the DL from April 22-April 30. Melendres is batting .243 (36x148) with 7 doubles, 2 triples, a home run and 12 RBI for the Generals this season. The utility man has started games at second base, third base, shortstop, left field, centerfield and right field. He was selected by the Mariners in the 17th round of the 2011 draft out of the University of Miami (FL),
