Birmingham Barons News Release

Birmingham, AL - The Barons return to Regions Field on Tuesday, June 24th for their first series of the second half with five games against the Mississippi Braves, the Double-A Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.

The homestand kicks off on Tuesday with Peanut Free Night presented by Alabama Allergy and Asthma Center where fans with moderate to severe Peanut Allergies can enjoy a baseball game without the worry of a dangerous reaction. The Barons thoroughly clean and power wash every inch of Regions Field during the All-Star Break and remove any and all peanut-related food items from the ballpark. There will still be plenty of great food available as it's also 50-Cent Hot Dog Night presented by Kayem Foods, Flowers Baking Co., MINI of Birmingham and WIAT 42. Tuesday's throughout the 2014 season are also Social Media Nights at Regions Field were fans can interact with the Barons via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the opportunity to win special prizes. Tuesday is also Birmingham Zoo Night at Regions Field.

On Wednesday, the Barons and M-Braves travel back in time for the 19th Annual Rickwood Classic at Rickwood Field, America's oldest in-use ballpark. The 12:30 PM contest, presented by State Farm and YP, will celebrate the "˜Roaring Twenties', a decade that saw the Barons capture two Southern Association titles and set numerous attendance records at Rickwood. Former Cy Young Award winner Dwight "˜Doc' Gooden will be on hand to sign autographs and throw out the ceremonial first pitch as the Classic's Guest of Honor.

On Thursday, fans can enjoy 16 oz. beer, wine and soda for just $2 during Thirsty Thursday at Regions Field presented by Miller Lite, Woodbridge and Buffalo Wild Wings. The Gates will open at 5:30 PM for the Thursday Concert Series presented by Birmingham Mountain Radio and Tin Roof featuring a performance by Andy Spain. Thursday is also YP Night at Regions Field.

Following the game, fans will be treated to a Friday Night Fireworks spectacular courtesy of Coca-Cola, Alabama Power and Glowble Lighting.

The homestand concludes Saturday where one lucky fan will leave with a grill courtesy of All-South Appliance. Following the game, the Barons will hold a special Diamond Dig on the field where the first 200 ladies 18 and older to sign up can dig to win a Diamond Ring courtesy of Diamonds Direct.
