Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Andrew Heaney (3-1) retired the first eleven batters he faced while the Biscuits (18-14) went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position in a 6-1 loss to the Jacksonville Suns Tuesday afternoon at Riverwalk. The Biscuits have now lost 7-of-their-last-9.

Heaney did not allow his first base runner until he walked Taylor Motter with two outs in the fourth. Richie Shaffer followed with an RBI-double that tied the game at one. Motter's run was the only run allowed by Heaney through six innings as the Marlin's top prospect struck out four and held the Biscuits to four hits.

The Biscuits stranded multiple runners on base in four of the final five innings including the ninth. Luke Bailey and Joey Rickard both finished with two hits in the eighth and nine spots respectively.

With the game tied at one, Alfredo Lopez ripped a two-run double to give the Suns a two-run lead as a part of a three-run sixth inning. The Suns added a run in the seventh and eighth innings to lead 6-1 while Lopez finished the game with three hits and three RBI.

The middle-game of the series is Wednesday night at 7:05. RH Jared Mortensen will take the mound for the Biscuits against RH Angel Sanchez.
