KALAMAZOO, MI. - The K-Wings had their four game win-streak snapped Wednesday night falling 6-3 at the hands of the Toledo Walleye.

Chris Collins netted a pair of goals for his first multi-goal game of his career. Reid Gardiner and Collins each also extended their point streaks to six games.

Chris Collins got the night rolling just five minutes in after receiving a pass in front from Reid Gardiner. Collins eighth of the season gave the K-Wings a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

The second period would see five goals split between the teams. TJ Hensick got the Walleye on the board at the four minute mark. Just a minute and a half later, Zach Saar would use his big frame in front to his advantage giving the K-Wings a 2-1 lead. However, from that point on, it was all Toledo the final 15 minutes of the second period. Three straight Walleye goals from Kevin Tansey, AJ Jenks, and Bryan Moore gave the Walleye a 4-2 lead after the second period.

In the third Chris Collins netted his second of the night to bring the K-Wings back within one. Collins got a pass right in front from Wade Murphy, and cut the lead to 4-3. Kalamazoo would get plenty of chances in the 3rd to tie things up, but couldn't capitalize. Toledo would add a pair of empty net goals in the final two minutes of play to round out the scoring at 6-3.

Ivan Kulbakov started the night for Kalamazoo stopping 25 of 29 shots he faced before giving way to Jake Hildebrand at the start of the third period. Hildebrand would notch a clean sheet in the third stopping all ten Toledo shots. Pat Nagle stopped 26 of 29 shots picking up the victory for the Walleye.

The K-Wings are back in action Friday night in Fort Wayne before returning home Saturday for Festivus night at Wings Event Center. Puck drop set for 7:30pm.
