WATERLOO, IA - The Kalamazoo Growlers dropped their third game in a row, falling 7-2 to the Waterloo Bucks on Monday night at Riverfront Stadium.

Tyler Day (Stephen F. Austin, 2-0) kept the Growlers at bay for six innings, allowing just one hit and striking out four. Derek Schneider (Western Michigan, 0-5) took the loss after allowing seven runs (five earned) on six hits in 4.2 innings.

The Bucks (16-12) jumped on Schneider in the second inning, as Adam McGinnis (Western Illinois) went deep to left for a solo home run. Taylor Boyd (St. Joseph's) plated another four batters later on a sac fly, and then Luke Stratman (Lamar CC) drove in another on a double, eventually scoring himself on a wild pitch to make it 4-0 Waterloo.

Schneider made it to the fifth inning, but an error at shortstop brought home two more Buck runs. Tyler Selesky's (Florida Gulf Coast) run-scoring triple in the next at-bat chased Schneider and gave Waterloo a 7-0 advantage.

The Growlers (7-21) got two back in the top of the eighth as Nick Yarnall (Pittsburgh) launched a two-run homer to right, giving the game its final margin. Yarnall's blast was one of only two Kalamazoo hits on the evening to go along with a Jordan Stading (Houston) single in the fourth.

Ryan May (LSU) and Aaron Tadian (Kent State) combined to hold the Bucks off the board in the final 3.2 innings. Derringer Huff (South Dakota State) and Sean Trimble (Long Beach State) pitched the final three innings for Waterloo.

The Growlers now head north for a two-game set with the Rochester Honkers. First pitch from Mayo Field on Tuesday is 8:05 p.m. EDT.
