Rafters Aim for Split against Lakeshore

Mequon, Wis- Wisconsin Rapids looks to maintain the season series lead against Lakeshore today as they face the defending Northwoods League champions for the sixth time this summer. The Rafters fell to the Chinooks 12-8 yesterday, in a game where offense was prevalent from start to finish. The Rafters will aim to get back to .500 in their final game in Mequon this summer.
The Rafters lineup will carry some momentum into Monday evening's game. Brock Carpenter (Seattle) went two for five at the plate yesterday and drove in another two RBI's for the Rafters. Jake Sandlin (Georgia College) also had a two RBI game, and Dustin Woodcock (SIU Edwardsville) had three hits including two doubles, and three runs scored out of the leadoff spot. Jon Malmin (Texas) made his first appearance out of the bullpen for the Rafters tossing three scoreless innings for Wisconsin Rapids. Zach Kolodziejski (Niagra) will make the start tonight, with his last assignment coming against Battle Creek on Friday June 12th. He went 3 perfect innings in a game the Rafters went on to win 4-3.
Wisconsin Rapids will head to Madison on June 23 to start a home and home series with the Mallards. La Crosse comes to Historic Witter Field on the 25th of June. Tickets are available for all remaining Rafters home games, call 715-424-5400 or go to www.raftersbaseball.com.
