Wisconsin Rapids Rafters News Release

Mequon, Wis- Wisconsin Rapids falls to Lakeshore for the third straight time, is handed their third straight loss, as the Chinooks took it to the Rafters in the 16-4 victory. The Rafters fall to 12-14 on the summer while the Chinooks improve to 15-11.

The Rafters were victims of the big inning once again this evening as the Chinooks plated seven runs in the third inning and five runs in the fifth. The other seven innings were pretty even between the two teams. Mitchell McGeein (Eastern Michigan) went two for four at the plate for the Rafters, he had an RBI and two runs scored for the Rafters. Tyler Johnson (Navarro CC) had the best all-around game for the visitors. He went one for two at the plate, threw a scoreless inning on the mound, and stole his first base of the summer for Wisconsin Rapids. It was a total team effort for Lakeshore, as every man in the starting lineup touched home-plate for the Chinooks. Jake Romano (Miami Ohio) hit his first home run of the season, and Zarley Zawlewski (Kent State) had a three hit game and score three runs for the home team.

Wisconsin Rapids will head to Madison tomorrow to start a home and home series with the Mallards. La Crosse comes to Historic Witter Field on the 25th of June. Tickets are available for all remaining Rafters home games, call 715-424-5400 or go to www.raftersbaseball.com.
