Desguin Named NWL Pitcher of the Night

Waterloo, Iowa - The Northwoods League has named Waterloo Bucks right-handed pitcher Jordan Desguin the NWL Pitcher of the Night for his efforts in Waterloo's 11-1 win over the Kalamazoo Growlers on Sunday. The junior from Florida Gulf Coast University tossed seven shutout innings, allowing two hits and striking out ten batters.

Desguin (pronounced DES-gwynn) improved to 1-1 on the year and through two starts has been a pleasant addition to the Bucks pitching staff, holding a 1.38 ERA with 14 strikeouts over 13 innings. The Newport Beach, California native has yet to allow a hit to a left-handed batter this season in 15 at bats.

The Bucks host Kalamazoo again tonight at 7:05 pm CT. The game can be heard online at www.waterloobucks.com with play-by-play announcer Matt Gruemmer. The Bucks will then embark on a seven-game road trip before returning the Waterloo to close out the first half of the season with a 7:05 pm game versus the Rochester Honkers on Tuesday, June 30.
