EVERETT, Wash. - Jackson Berezowski notched a historic tally, but the Silvertips came up just a buck short against the Tri-City Americans in a 3-2 final at Angel of the Winds Arena Sunday night.

Jackson Berezowski netted his 112th career goal 3:20 into the first period, banging in a rebound on the powerplay to give the Silvertips a 1-0 lead. The goal pulls Berezowski even with Patrick Bajkov for the top spot on the Silvertips' all-time goal-scoring list.

Reese Belton netted a powerplay goal of his own 7:18 into the first to tie things up through the first period.

Tri-City scored twice in the second period, the first a powerplay rebound goal by Ethan Ernst at 12:29, the second a redirection goal by Jalen Luypen to give the Americans a 3-1 advantage after two.

The Silvertips would pull back within one thanks to a Ben Hemmerling break-in goal, his 17th of the season. Tri-City survived the final push at 6-on-5, as Tomas Suchanek turned aside 32 of 34 for the win. Tyler Palmer saved 30 of 33 for Everett in the loss.

The Everett Silvertips head to Kent on Friday night to play the Seattle Thunderbirds. They host the Thunderbirds on Saturday for Local Heroes Night at Angel of the Winds Arena, and battle the Red Deer Rebels at home Sunday night. Tickets are available.
