ICE Top Calgary in Overtime

The Winnipeg ICE earned four out of a possible six points this weekend finishing with a 5-4 overtime victory Sunday in Calgary.

Owen Pederson's second goal of the night, and 20th of the season, ended the game at 2:42 of the extra frame.

Carson Latimer, Easton Armstrong and Graham Sward also scored as Winnipeg's record improved to 35-6-1. The ICE, combined with their 5-1 win in Red Deer Saturday, now lead the Rebels by three points for first place in the Eastern Conference, and have four games in hand.

Sean Tschigerl scored twice for the Hitmen (23-17-5-1). Maxim Muranov and Oliver Tulk had the other goals.

Connor McClennon had a game high six shots on goal as Winnipeg outshot Calgary 42-34.

Mason Beaupit earned the victory in net while Brayden Peters suffered the loss. Beaupit played all three games over the weekend.

The ICE return home for a 7:00 face off Wednesday at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena when they host the Saskatoon Blades.
