Regina Pats News Release

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats host the Medicine Hat Tigers at 4:00 p.m. inside the Brandt Centre ahead of a week long Alberta road trip.

The Pats are extremely grateful to partner with the Regina branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association to host a Talk Today game today, supported by Brandt to promote mental health and increase public awareness in our community.

The Pats have won their last four home games coming into today's contest against the Tigers, as they faceoff against Medicine Hat for the first time this season. Regina is coming off a 5-2 win over the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday in front of a sold out crowd at the Brandt Centre. Connor Bedard scored twice, while Alexander Suzdalev (1G-2A), Tanner Howe and Matteo Michels scored the others, with Michels scoring his first career WHL goal.

The final shots in the game were 30-25 for the Pats, with the Pats going 1-3 on their power play and 3-3 on their penalty kill. The Pats also won the faceoff department 38-24 in the game, with Connor Bedard (19-for-27) and Braxton Whitehead (10-17) leading that department. Drew Sim picked up his 18th win of the season, making 23 saves.

On the other side, the Medicine Hat Tigers are coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors on the road last night, dropping their second straight game in overtime as they previously fell to the Swift Current Broncos 4-3 in extra-time last Sunday.

Last night, the Tigers had a 2-1 lead in the third period before the Warriors tied it up with under five minutes to play. Oasiz Wiesblatt and Owen MacNeil scored the Tigers goals while Beckett Langkow made 29 saves in the loss. The final shots were 36-32 for Moose Jaw. The Tigers went 0-6 on the power play while the Warriors were 2-3 on their power play.
