Ben Guite Returns To Sound Tigers

BRIDGEPORT, CT – The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have signed Right Wing Ben Guite to a professional tryout contract.

Guite, 25, appeared in all 80 games for the AHL's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks last season recording 13 goals, 16 assists, 29 points and 44 penalty minutes. The Montreal, Quebec native split the previous season, 2001-02, between Cincinnati and the Sound Tigers recording 12 goals, 18 assists, 30 points and 39 penalty minutes in 68 games with Bridgeport and two goals, five assists, seven points and four penalty minutes in ten games with the Mighty Ducks. Guite played the previous season, 2000-01, with the ECHL's Tallahassee Tiger Sharks and the four years before that, 1996-2000, at the University of Maine of Hockey East. Guite was a teammate of current Sound Tiger Martin Kariya at Maine during the 1999-2000 season.

The Sound Tigers will begin their third season of play and first under the guidance of new Head Coach Greg Cronin when they visit the Hartford Wolf Pack this Friday at 7:05 p.m. The Sound Tigers will host the Philadelphia Phantoms in their home opener at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard this Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
