
Bellinger, Bogese Named Rawlings CPL Players of the Week

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. - The Coastal Plain League announced today that Florence's Zachary Bellinger was named the Rawlings Hitter of the Week, while Joshua Kyle Bogese of Forest City was named the Rawlings Pitcher of the Week for week one of action (June 17-23).
Bellinger, a sophomore from the College of Saint Rose, had an outstanding week from the plate for the Florence RedWolves, earning him Hitter of the Week honors for the first time this season. The first baseman started all five games for the team batting .529 over that stretch. Bellinger came up clutch racking up nine RBIs on nine hits with one homerun and a double. He also showed a good eye at the plate earning two walks while striking out only once giving him an on base percentage of .636 for the week.
On the mound, Bogese, threw a complete game for the Forest City Owls on June 17 to earn Pitcher of the Week honors in week four. The 6-0, 195-pound junior out of Trinity University, threw seven shutout innings in the first game of a doubleheader against Martinsville. The right-hander struck out 11 while allowing only one hit, finishing with an impressive .045 opponent batting average and a .428 WHIP on the night.
