Des Moines - The Iowa Cubs, in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs, announced that RHP Dallas Beeler will join Iowa tonight as part of a major league rehabilitation assignment. Beeler was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right elbow strain to begin the season and has been in Mesa rehabbing since.

Beeler, 26, was a 41st-round draft pick by the Cubs in 2010 and spent the majority of the last two seasons with Iowa. In 41 career starts for the I-Cubs, Beeler is 17-11 with a 3.71 ERA. Last season, he also began the year on the disabled list, remaining in Mesa for a month following spring training to recover from right shoulder inflammation.

The righty made his major league debut with the Cubs on June 28, 2014 and appeared in two big league games that season, going 0-2 with a 3.27 ERA. He has amassed a 0-3 overall record with the Cubs and a 6.05 ERA.
