Corporan Leads Zephyrs to 5-1 Win and Split in Memphis

Memphis - Carlos Corporan drilled a three run home run and finished with two hits and four runs batted in to lead the New Orleans Zephyrs to a 5-1 victory over the Memphis Redbirds. The Zephyrs split the four game trip in Memphis.

The Redbirds scored a third inning run off of starter Jarred Cosart to take a 1-0 lead. The Zephyrs answered with a pair of third inning runs. The Z's took advantage of three Memphis errors in the inning.

Corporan capped the scoring with the three run home run in the sixth inning.

Jo Jo Reyes pitched two and a third innings of scorless relief for the win. He entered the game in the fourth inning in an emergency spot as Cosart left with an apparent injury.

The Z's bullpen worked the final five and one third innings without allowing a run .

The Zephyrs improve to 23-30 and Memphis falls to 22-30.
