Portland Beavers News Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the second straight day, the Portland Beavers scheduled game at Colorado Springs was postponed due to inclement weather and unsuitable playing conditions and will be made up as part of a doubleheader at Security Service Field on Sunday, May 29, it was announced Friday afternoon.

The Beavers (10-9) and Sky Sox (7-11) are scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at 12:05 p.m. (Pacific). In the first game, right-hander Justin Germano (0-2, 6.98) will go for the Beavers against right-hander Mike Esposito (1-0, 5.74). In the nightcap, Tim Stauffer (2-0, 2.16) gets the call for Portland and right-handed Denny Stark (0-0, 0.00) is slated to start for Colorado Springs. Both games are scheduled for seven innings.

The Beavers haven't played since Tuesday, their longest idle streak in their five seasons back in the Pacific Coast League, not including all-star breaks. It also marked the fourth time in five seasons the Beavers had a game postponed when visiting Colorado Springs, including Thursday's game that was called due to related weather issues.

Following their series in Colorado Springs, the Beavers begin an eight-game homestand at PGE Park on Monday, May 2. Portland plays host to Salt Lake and Colorado Springs in a pair of four-game series, with the second homestand of the season wrapping up on Monday, May 9.

Tickets for the upcoming home games are available at the PGE Park box office, at area Ticketmaster outlets, or by phone at (503) 224-4400. Tickets are available online at www.ticketmaster.com.
