Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Sidewinders will defend their Pacific Southern Division lead against the rival Sacramento Rivercats (Athletics) and Fresno Grizzlies (Giants) during the team's second eight game homestand beginning Monday, May 2nd at 6:30 p.m. The Sidewinders season high 6-game winning streak has lifted the team into first place in the division, with a one game lead over Sacramento entering tonight's action. The winning streak is the longest active streak in the entire Pacific Coast League. The team has ridden several strong individual performances including 1B Conor Jackson, who has hit safely in 10 straight games and has a .400 batting average on the season, good for T7th in the PCL. As a team, the Sidewinders have posted double digit hits in an amazing eleven consecutive games!
The jam packed homestand will feature two D.A.R.E/G.R.E.A.T. Kids Days where over 11,000 Southern Arizona school children will enjoy a day out at the park courtesy of the Sidewinders while learning the importance of staying away from drugs and gang violence. The homestand also features the season's third Fireworks Friday, a pair of Maragitaville Mondays, and Tucson favorite Thirsty Thursday. Good seats remain for all games.
