
Bears Summon Two from Stingrays

HERSHEY, Pa. - The Hershey Bears announced today that forward Austin Fyten has been recalled from the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays, and that defenseman Tyler Lewington has been reassigned to Hershey. The announcements were made by Bears president/general manager Doug Yingst.
Fyten, 24, has appeared in two games with the Bears in two separate recalls. He returns once again from the Stingrays, where he dressed in 11 games and has posted five points (two goals, three assists).
Fyten spent the entire 2014-15 season in the AHL, dressing in 64 games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He recorded 11 points (two goals, nine assists) along with 85 penalty minutes.
The 6-1, 190-pound native of Sundre, Alberta split the 2013-14 season with the AHL's Oklahoma City Barons and the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads. He notched 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) with the Barons in 47 regular-season games. He has a total of 33 points (nine goals, 24 assists) in 124 career AHL games with Texas, Oklahoma City, Lehigh Valley and Hershey. In the ECHL, Fyten has recorded 61 points (25 goals, 36 assists) in 72 games with Idaho and South Carolina. Prior to turning pro, Fyten played junior hockey with the WHL's Lethbridge Hurricanes and Vancouver Giants, posting 122 points (55 goals, 67 assists) in 193 career games.
Lewington, 20, comes to Hershey for the first time since the pre-season. He has posted three points (one goal, two assists) in 12 games in South Carolina, picking up his first professional goal on Sunday at Atlanta and his first two assists on Tuesday at Orlando.
The 6-1, 197-pound native of Sherwood Park, Alberta played four years of junior hockey with the WHL's Medicine Hat Tigers prior to turning pro. He has a total of 112 points (18 goals, 94 assists), 411 penalty minutes and a cumulative plus-86 efficiency rating in his 250-game junior career. Lewington served as team captain of the Tigers in 2014-15, setting career highs in goals (nine), assists (36) and points (45) while tying a career best for games played (69).
Lewington was selected by the Washington Capitals in the seventh round (204th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
