Binghamton Senators News Release
ALBANY, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators were shutout 4-0 by the Albany Devils Friday night in the Times Union Center.
The Devils opened the scoring for the night after Mike Sislo scored his eleventh goal of the season at the 3:05 mark in the first. Corey Tropp doubled the lead for the hosts a little over 15 minutes later after taking advantage of a delay of game call and putting a power-play goal past rookie goaltender Matt O'Connor. The B-Sens went to the first intermission trailing 2-0 while registering only one shot on goal compared to Albany's 11.
Albany scored two goals over 2:19 to double their lead over the B-Sens and end O'Connor's night. Reid Boucher scored his eighth goal of the year followed by Brandon Burlon scoring his first goal of the season. Scott Greenham came in as relief for Binghamton to keep the score at 4-0 heading into the final intermission with the Devils leading the shots for the period 18-4.
Yann Danis and the Devils held off the B-Sens during the third period to keep the final score at 4-0.
Greenham finished with 8 saves as relief while O'Connor had 20 saves and picked up the loss. Danis had six saves in the shutout win.
