
Bears Sign Goaltender Kenny Reiter to PTO

HERSHEY, Pa. - The Hershey Bears announced today that goaltender Kenny Reiter has been signed to a professional tryout agreement. The announcement was made by Bears president/general manager Doug Yingst. Reiter, 28, joins the Bears after spending the season with the ECHL's Reading Royals. He has appeared in one game for Reading, a 6-3 victory over the Gwinnett Gladiators on January 25.
Reiter played the majority of his professional career with the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, dressing in 38 games from 2011-2014. He posted a record of 10-17-4 with one shutout, a goals- against average of 2.90 and save percentage of .903.
The 5-11, 170-pound native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has a career ECHL mark of 15-7-1 in 25 appearances with Reading and the Fort Wayne Komets.
Prior to turning pro, Reiter attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth (WCHA), compiling a record of 52-26-11 in three seasons from 2009-2012. He registered nine shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.34 and save percentage of .912 in his college career. Reiter was a member of UMD's 2011 NCAA National Championship team, was selected for the WCHA Second All-Star Team in his senior season and was a four-time All-Academic Team member.
The Bears visit the Binghamton Senators on Friday, February 6 at 7:05 PM. Fans may listen to the game beginning at 6:25 PM on the Bears Radio Network of affiliates WQIC-FM 100.1, WTKT-AM 1460 and via the iHeart Radio app for smartphones (1460 AM).
The Bears return home to host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday, February 7 at 7:00 PM. Hershey is celebrating "Chocolate-Covered February", and all fans in attendance will receive candy upon exiting courtesy of the Hershey Company. Only a limited number of tickets remain for this game.
