Chicago Wolves News Release

Chicago Wolves forwards PAT CANNONE and SHANE HARPER will appear at four Chicago-area libraries on Tuesday, Feb. 10, to continue the 20th season of the "Read to Succeed" program, presented by Butternut Bread and J.U.L.I.E., Inc.

The 28-year-old CANNONE, a New York native and graduate of Miami University (Ohio), will start his first program at 4 p.m. at Prospect Heights Public Library (12 N. Elm Street) before his second outing at 7 p.m. at Elk Grove Village Public Library (1001 Wellington Avenue).

The 25-year-old Harper, who grew up in southern California and has played all over North America during his career, will make his first appearance at 4:30 p.m. at Skokie Public Library (5215 Oakton Avenue) before a 7 p.m. visit to Lincolnwood Public Library (4000 W. Pratt Avenue).

The "Read to Succeed" program teaches the importance of recreational reading and encourages children to use the many resources that libraries have to offer. CANNONE and HARPER will speak about the benefits of reading outside the classroom and discuss how it plays an important part in their lives as professional athletes.

Participants can win prizes -- including Wolves knit hats, pennants, and tickets to upcoming games -- for setting and achieving reading goals.

Throughout the season, more than 17,000 children will participate in the program, with Wolves players making appearances at select libraries throughout the Chicago area.
