
Bears Send Lacroix and Flemming to Stingrays

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that forward Maxime Lacroix and defenseman Brett Flemming have been assigned to the team from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.
Lacroix, 24, appeared in 19 games with Bears scoring two assists and eight penalty minutes. The Quebec, Quebec, native began the season with the Stingrays grabbing three assists in two contests. Last season, Lacroix split time between the Bears and Stingrays recording 10 points (7g, 3a) in 13 games with the Stingrays and 16 points (6g, 10a) in 57 contests with Hershey. A two-time Kelly Cup Champion (South Carolina 2009, Cincinnati 2010) and fifth-round draft pick by the Washington Capitals in 2006 (127 overall), Lacroix skated in 63 games for the Stingrays during the 2008-09 campaign adding 33 goals and 31 assists for 64 points and played in all 23 Kelly Cup playoff contests netting 18 points (13g, 5a) as the team captured their ECHL-record third Kelly Cup title.
Flemming, 20, dressed in 21 games with the Bears recording four points (2g, 2a). Currently in his first professional season, the Regina, Saskatchewan, native spent the last four years with the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors of the Ontario Hockey League totaling 105 points (9g, 96a) in 247 games. Last season, Flemming led all OHL defensemen with a +60 rating and helped the team to the Memorial Cup Finals before falling to the Saint John Sea Dogs.
The Stingrays return to the North Charleston Coliseum Saturday, December 31 against the Florida Everblades for FIRST Robotics Night presented by Google and a New Year's Eve bash with a postgame balloon drop at 6:05 p.m.
