
Bears Return Home Friday To Face Norfolk

The HERSHEY BEARS Hockey Club won three out of four games in New England last week to vault five points ahead of the second place Albany River Rats in the East Division standings. The BEARS also completed one quarter of its 2009-10 road schedule Sunday in Providence with a 5-1 win over the Bruins.
HERSHEY is home this Friday and Saturday nights against Norfolk and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Tickets are on sale now at the GIANT Center box office or by calling (717) 534-3911.
Aucoin shines in New England: Center Keith Aucoin, a Waltham, MA native, scored five goals last week in helping the BEARS secure three wins in four games throughout the northeast. Aucoin scored three goals in leading HERSHEY to a 5-2 win over Lowell Wednesday night, and finished the weekend with two goals in Providence in a 5-1 win over the Bruins at Dunkin Donuts Center. For his efforts, Aucoin was nominated for American Hockey League player of the week honors for the period ending November 8.
Road tested: The BEARS begin the week in first place in the East Division, and the Chocolate and White have managed to lead the rest of the pack despite playing 10 of its first 15 games away from home. HERSHEY has seven road wins already in 2009- 10, the most in the AHL heading into the new week.
Practice schedule: HERSHEY will skate at HERSHEYPARK Arena Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week for practice. Tuesday's practice is at 10:00 a.m., with Wednesday and Thursday's practices running from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The players and coaches are available for interviews after practice all three days prior to Friday's home game against Norfolk.
Miskovic with number one: Rookie defenseman Zach Miskovic scored his first American Hockey League goal this past Saturday night against Manchester. A product of St. Lawrence University, Miskovic led all NCAA defensemen in goals last season.
Washington update: The Capitals take to the ice Wednesday at home against the New York Islanders at Verizon Center at 7:00 p.m., and welcome Minnesota to the District on Friday evening. The Caps round out a Washington holds a seven point lead over second place Tampa Bay as the new week begins.
