Adirondack Phantoms News Release
GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, announced today that the Flyers have recalled 6'2'', 195-pound defenseman Oskars Bartulis (AWZ-kahrs, bahr-TEW-lihs) from Adirondack.
Bartulis, 22, has two goals and two assists for four points, and 14 penalty minutes in 12 games with the Phantoms this season. His four points lead Adirondack's defense in scoring. In 2008-09, he appeared in all 80 regular season games with the Flyers' AHL affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, where he posted 13 points (2G,11A) and 59 penalty minutes. In parts of three seasons with the Phantoms (2007-08 to 2009-10), Bartulis has registered 38 points (5G,33A) and 115 penalty minutes in 149 career games. He has also appeared in four Calder Cup Playoff games with the Phantoms.
A native of Riga, Latvia, Bartulis was originally selected by the Flyers in the third round (91st overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft and signed a three-year entry level contract with the Flyers on September 23, 2006. He was already recalled to Philadelphia once this season, on October 25th due to an injury to Chris Pronger, but Pronger was able to recover and play in the game that night against San Jose. Thus, Bartulis was a healthy scratch and was returned to the Phantoms on October 26th.
The Time Warner Cable Cup Four-Pack is now on sale at the Phantoms office, starting as low as $56. 2009-10 Phantoms full and partial season ticket packages are still available for the 2009-10 season presented by Bud Light.
