November 9, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Connecticut Whale News Release
HARTFORD, November 9, 2009: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the parent New York Rangers have suspended forward Tyler Arnason and reassigned forward Chris Chappell to the Wolf Pack from the team's ECHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers.
Arnason, a ninth-year pro who contributed three assists in 11 games with the Wolf Pack, has left the team after agreeing to a contract with a team in Europe.
Chappell has played one game this year for the Wolf Pack, a 7-0 home win over Providence Halloween night, and was even with five penalty minutes and two shots on goal in that game. In five ECHL games with Charlotte, the rookie out of the Ontario Hockey League has one goal and one assist for two points and is +1.
Chappell signed as a free agent with the Rangers July 2, after tallying 38 goals and 38 assists for 76 points in 68 games with the OHL's Saginaw Spirit last season.
The Wolf Pack return to action this Wednesday night, November 11, with a visit to Manchester for a 7:00 game against the Monarchs (WTIC HD-2, www.hartfordwolfpack.com, www.wtic.com ). The Pack's next home game is this Friday, November 13, also against Manchester, at 7:00.
