Amerks Fans Encouraged To Purchase Tickets In Advance
November 9, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... This past Friday and Saturday evening, fans attending Rochester Americans games at The Blue Cross Arena that waited until game night to purchase tickets encountered long lines and a peak delay of 30 minutes to reach box office windows. The team is encouraging fans to purchase their tickets in advance, particularly for traditionally high-demand games such as the nights after Thanksgiving (November 27th vs. Wilkes-Barre Scranton) and Christmas (December 26th vs. Hamilton).
"We thank all of our fans who invest their hard-earned money by buying tickets to watch this year's exciting team", stated Amerks President Lewis Staats. "We want to encourage fans to avoid anticipated delays at our box office on game night by purchasing their tickets in advance. On both Friday and Saturday, the lines were such that many purchasing tickets on game night missed nearly half of the first period. We want to honor the investment by each and every fan and want them to be able to reach their seats when the game begins."
"While we anticipate demand to be high for all games, the fact remains we anticipate great demand for the games on November 27th and December 26th," added Staats. "I encourage all fans who may traditionally buy tickets for these games, or even those that may want to attend them for the first time, to purchase their tickets as soon as possible."
The team also would like to remind potential ticket buyers that season and partial season ticket packages are still available.
"We know that some fans may have a tough time making all of our games and season tickets may not be an option. However, we have partial season ticket packages available that will allow fans to choose their games they can attend and save significantly from box office prices, as well as avoid waiting in line" said Staats.
