GOING UP: Team Elmer's set the tops of the entrance gables on Tuesday afternoon, leaving only one out of place. Shingling crews will finish the roof of the gable and it will be set into place sometime on Thursday afternoon.

WHAT ELSE IS HAPPENING? We hope you have taken a moment to visit our website (www.traversecitybeachbums.com) and check the headlines and news stories there. These newsletters not only allow us tell you the latest news first, they also allow us to share additional information and photos..

The project site continues to be a beehive of subcontractors, with everyone doing their own thing, from electricians to plumbers to framers and roofers and everyone in between. Northern Sprinkler Systems finished the initial installation of the irrigation system on the playing field Friday morning (8/05). Crews from Elmer's went to work with their power rakes, and early Tuesday morning the topcoat mix of sand/black dirt started to go down on the outfield.

Wednesday, August 10 view of field progress at 1 o'clock By Wednesday evening the entire outfield had a new 6" topcoat. The small white flags visible on the field, mark the location of the sprinkler heads. Dirt was carefully spread leaving the flags in place -- a feat in itself when using a bulldozer and earthmoving pan.

Perfect Fence is hard at work on the privacy fence that will rim the perimeter of the stadium grounds. To date they have set over 400' of fencing along the North property line.

Kent Concrete has finished the seating risers and party decks and now have one crew cleaning everything up. A second crew poured the top of the Beach Bums dugout today.

WHAT'S HAPPENING NEXT:

Crews from Emch Brothers, athletic field specialists, move onsite to lay out the infield and build the pitcher's mound and the bullpen mounds. Everything is being done to prepare the field for its topcoat of sod that will be laid (beginning) sometime around the 18th of August.

The American Seating Company is sending their installer up to begin to prep the field for seat installation. We are expecting delivery of 3500+ chair back seats the third week in August.

Siding crews will be moving back on-site to begin their large job of covering the stadium with Pacific Blue siding.

All three will very visibly change the appearance of Wuerfel Park, both inside and outside. We invite you to watch the website for regular photo updates.

THANK YOU! We would like to once again express our thanks to the wonderful people of the Traverse City area who are wholeheartedly supporting the Beach Bums. We have received numerous letters of support from individuals who expect to be regular fans, but find a 48 night time commitment tough to fit into their summer schedule. We greatly appreciate each and every letter! Fans of all ages, shapes, sizes and time availability's are WELCOME!

Season Ticket requests were at 1642 as of Wednesday evening (08/10). If you have not yet reserved your season tickets and would like to do so, please visit our website for more information.
