Wild Things drop game three to Chillicothe Paints

Chillicothe Defeats Wild Things 11-6

The first place Wild Things (46-26) dropped a total of two of three games to the Chillicothe Paints at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, OH when the Paints defeated Washington 11-6 Thursday night.

The Paints dominated the first part of the game, scoring unanswered runs in the first, fourth, and fifth innings. In the sixth inning with the score 5-0, the Wild Things finally scored two runs, but in the seventh inning Chillicothe's Juan Downing hit a grand slam, giving Chillicothe the edge they needed against the Wild Things.

The Wild Things came back in the eighth inning to score three runs.

Randy McGarvey and Ryan McGraw had a double steal while T.J. Graves was at the plate. Graves grounded out to drive in McGarvey. David Reaver drove in McGraw and Pinch hitter Andy Hudak hit and RBI double, driving in Reaver.

In the ninth inning T.J. Graves hit a sacrifice fly, driving in Chris Sidick.

Ryan Douglass (9-3) took the loss, pitching six innings, allowing eight hits, five runs, and striking out three. Corey Ohalek and B.J. Borsa combined for two innings, allowing four hits and six runs.

The Wild Things return home Friday when they'll host the Richmond Roosters for a three game set. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Fans will be treated to a fireworks show following the game, courtesy of Washington Auto Mall.
