
Renault, Mavericks shut down Grizzlies

Nick Renault struck out 10 as he led the Mid-Missouri Mavericks past the Gateway Grizzlies 12-5 Wednesday night in Columbia, MO.
The Grizzlies drop to 33-37. Mid-Missouri improves to 23-46.
Renault went 6 1/3 innings for his seventh win of the year.
Mike Breyman provided most of the offense for the night. Breyman was 4-5 with three double, and RBI and a run scored. Eric Sansouci and Oscar Vargas each added RBI hits. Bo Jenkins, pinch hitting in the ninth, tripled to drive in Breyman for the final run of the night.
Alex Justust (1-1) suffered the loss for the Grizzlies. Justust, making his second pro start went 3 1/3 innings. He gave up five runs on five hits. He walked five and struck out just one.
The Grizzlies and Mavericks will play the "rubber match" Thursday night at Taylor Stadium in Columbia, MO. Game time is 7:05. Fans can tune in on 1380 ESPN and the Grizzlies radio network beginning at 6:50.
