BOWIE, MD - The Bowie Baysox (16-16) plated two runs in the bottom of the ninth to steal game two, 5-4, from the Richmond Flying Squirrels (15-17) on Tuesday night at Prince George's Stadium

Leading 4-3 into the bottom of the ninth inning, the Squirrels called upon right-handed closer Jason Stoffel to try and close out the series win. He recorded the first two outs of the inning without incident, but conceded a two-out double to Ronnie Welty to keep the Baysox alive. Pedro Florimon drilled the next pitch for a double to left-center field, tying the game, 4-4. Florimon advanced to third on a wild-pitch from Stoffel and scored the game-winning run on a walk-off single from Kyle Hudson.

The Baysox jumped on Squirrels' starter Clayton Tanner quickly in the bottom of the first inning. Xavier Avery led off with an opposite-field double, and advanced to third on a ground out from Greg Miclat. A batter later, Charlie Culberson couldn't cleanly play a ground ball from Brandon Waring. Culberson was charged with an error as Avery scored for a 1-0 Bowie lead. Robbie Widlansky followed with a two-run home run to left-center field, extending the lead to 3-0. All three runs were unearned due to the error on Culberson.

Right-hander Tim Bascom held the Squirrels in check through three innings, but they got on the board in the fourth when Culberson opened the inning with a single to left field. Roger Kiechnick followed with a double off the wall in left field, bring Culberson around from first base with the Squirrels first run. Bascom settled down to retire the next three batters, and the Squirrels trailed, 3-1.

The Squirrels drew to within a run, plating a second run off of Bascom in the fifth inning. Bacscom began the inning with two strikeouts, but walked Justin Christian with two outs. Noonan followed and blooped a ball towards short-right field. Kyle Hudson charged, dove, and missed the sinking baseball. It bounded behind him, and Christian galloped around from first base to trim the Baysox lead to 3-2.

Richmond finally surged in front in the sixth when Kieschnick led off with a single off of Bascom. A batter later, Joe Koshansky crushed a two-run home run to right field to put the Squirrels in front, 4-3. Bascom departed one batter after Koshanksy's third home run of the season.

Ultimately, Bascom worked 5 1/3 innings, conceding four earned runs on six hits. He walked three and struck out six. Tanner settled down nicely following his troubles in the first inning, conceding only four singles over the following five innings. He retired after six innings, surrendering just the three unearned runs in the first. He walked none and struck out four. Neither starter factored in the decision.
