Rhinehart Leads Senators to 9-2 Win Over Altoona

The Harrisburg Senators crossed the plate a season-high nine times in beating the Altoona Curve 9-2 on Tuesday night. Bill Rhinehart led the way for the Senators hitting two-two run home runs. It was the fourth game in a row and Senators player has homered twice in a game.

Chris Rahl had three hits, two triples, to raise his average over .300. Derek Norris and Jonathan Tucker also chipped in with two hits giving the Senators four players with multi-hit games.

Shairon Martis started and went six innings, his longest outing of the year and earned the win. Carlos Martinez and Hassan Pena combined to go the final three innings, striking out six consecutive hitters in the sixth and seventh innings.

Harrisburg improves to 16-15 with the win while the Altoona Curve fall to 14-16. The Sens have taken five of the eight games played between the two teams this season, including the past three.

The Senators go for the three-game sweep on Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. with RH Eric Davis on the mound opposed by LH Jeff Locke for the Pirates. The game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and on your ipad or iphone beginning at 10:20 a.m.
